Mummers

Joan loved the Mummers! For a few years we would gather the kids up ,blankets and heavy gear and head to Broad Sreet to watch The parade. Afterwards go to the Pendergast's house for pork roast and sauercrout. This one year the parade route changed - Down Walnut street instead of Broad . I happen to be in Phillie that year with my siblings. We walked over to the parade and there was Joan in the parade strutting down Walnut Street proud as a peacock! She loved a her New Years Day Mummers!
