Jimmy was born February 13, 1984 in Philadelphia, PA and relocated to Upper Township, NJ as a small child in 1986. Jimmy spent summers on the beaches of the Jersey Shore. He loved crabbing, riding his bike, cousin sleepovers, and playing football for the Upper Township Indians. He graduated from Ocean City High School in 2003. Jimmy worked for Georgetti Construction. He was a commercial fisherman out of Fish Alley in Sea Isle City, NJ.

In January of 2004, Jimmy was involved in a near-fatal car accident. At age 19, Jimmy was told he would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. His family began wearing green bracelets to show support, hope, and love for Jimmy. Over the months that followed, there were hundreds of green bracelets worn everywhere. Jimmy was an inspiration to all who knew him. After seven months in Jefferson Hospital, he moved into Magee Rehabilitation. Magee’s rooftop garden center inspired Jimmy’s love of gardening, which he shared with his many nieces and nephews. He became an advocate for spinal cord research. He attended annual symposiums for Unite 2 Fight Paralysis and became a peer mentor at Magee Rehabilitation.

Jimmy was most happy with his canine companion Meeko and his large family. He enjoyed Sunday dinners with his siblings, watching football and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Jimmy left an impression on all who knew him. By being a shining example of strength, courage and faith.

Jimmy is predeceased by his loving parents, Thomas & Joan Pendergast, and his adored godson, Zachary Fulmer.
