Obituary for Charlotte V Bennett Newman (Loveland)
Charlotte V. Newman 94, of Point Pleasant, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 14th 2021, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Born to Catherine and Leander (Lee) Loveland and raised in Point Pleasant (Lovelandtown), Charlotte attended Point Pleasant Beach High school. Charlotte was a beautiful soul and artist, making many crafts for both her family and friends. Charlotte collected many varieties of pigs and cherished the all dearly. She enjoyed her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her great-grand dogs. After retiring, Charlotte and her second husband, Arthur, moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina where they resided for 28 years before moving back to Point Pleasant in July 2010 to reside with family.
Charlotte is survived by her devoted daughter, Rebecca (Becky) and husband, Pete Shutt. Her grandson, Mark Shutt and his daughter, Chloe Shutt from Kauai, Hawaii. Granddaughter Jennifer O’Shea and husband John O’Shea from Spring Lake, NJ and great-grandchildren Abigail O’Shea, John Peter (Jack) O’Shea, and Ellison O’Shea. Granddaughter Whitney Shutt from Brick, NJ and her great-grand dogs, Parker and Remi. Three step grandchildren and two great step grandchildren, and daughter in law, Regina Newman. Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Lee Loveland, her first husband, Stanford (Jack) Bennett, son Stanford (Sandy) Bennett, second husband, Arthur Newman, and stepson, Robert Newman.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 10am-12pm at Pable Evertz Funeral Home, 901 Beaver Dam Road, Point Pleasant, NJ 08742, followed by service at 12pm. Following the service, the burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery located in Brielle, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity in Charlotte’s memory are greatly appreciated.
