Obituary for Daniel J. Iverson

Iverson, Daniel, 77 of Corbin City
Daniel Iverson went home to be with his Lord on March 21, 2018. Born in Woodbury, NJ in 1941 he was predeceased by his parents Oscar and Elizabeth Iverson. He was a 31 year resident of Westville, NJ before moving to Mays Landing for 29 years. After retirement he has resided for the past eighteen years in Corbin City. Dan was a graduate of Woodbury High School, Temple University, and Rowan University. He worked for IBM for 30 years and with his wife Carol owned and operated Award Trophies and Engraving in Mays Landing for 20 years.
Dan was elected to the Hamilton Township Committee and served as its’ Mayor. Later he served on the Planning Board for several years until moving to Corbin City where he also was a member of the Planning Board.
Dan was a former member of Lakewood Chapel in Mays Landing, where he served on the Governing Board and as a Trustee. Recently he was a member of Second Cape May Baptist Church in Marmora.
He served as Cub Scout Pack 254 Chairman and as a Boy Scout merit badge counselor. Dan enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, photography and especially being “Mr. Fix-it”.
He is survived by his devoted wife Carol of 55 years, son James (Kimberly) and daughter Susan Rush (Howard). Brother O. Richard Iverson, sister G. Elaine Pfender, sister-in-law Jane Crawford and brother-in-law Harry McCracken (Patricia), as well as many nieces and nephews.
He dearly loved and was proud of his grandchildren Christopher and Lauren Iverson and Kyle, Nathan, Zachary Rush. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and building things with them in his garage.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Langley-Loveland Funeral Home, 2315 Rt. 50, Tuckahoe, NJ from 11am-1pm. A service will be held at 1pm with interment directly after at Head of the River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Second Cape May Baptist Church, 600 S. Shore Road (Rt 9), Marmora, NJ 08223.
