Obituary for George J. Woolley Jr.

George J. Woolley Jr, 80, of Spring Lake Heights passed away on July 27, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born at home and grew up in Neptune City along the Shark River where he enjoyed crabbing, fishing, clamming and boating with his pals and sister Carol.
George belonged to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #9 for over 60 years, was a member of St. Andrews UMC, Spring Lake, and was a 50 year member of Ocean Masonic Lodge #89, Spring Lake Heights. He also belonged to the Shriners, The Scottish Rite, and High Twelve.
George was a member of the Mid Atlantic Solid Axle Corvette Club and enjoyed the many friends he made while attending and participating in car shows through the years.
George was a likable guy and loved his many friends, Masonic Brothers, church family and family. He was a loyal friend and a wonderful grandfather. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, especially his niece Anne Skinner, who traveled from Kentucky to be at his side during the last few days of his life.
George was predeceased by his parents, George and Charlotte Woolley and his sister Marilyn Balsamo. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dianne Woolley, son, George J Woolley III, daughter, Catherine Anderson and her husband Brian and sister Carol Craven. He left 8 grandchildren, Anne, George IV, and Grace Woolley and Kristin, Alexis, Jake, Cassandra and Luke Woolley and many nieces and nephews as well as Mark Woolley and Maryanne Woolley.
A memorial service will be held at St Andrew’s UMC, Fourth and W. Lake Avenue, Spring Lake, on Saturday August 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
Memorial donations can be made to St Andrew’s UMC, Spring Lake, The Masonic Charity Foundation Of NJ, Burlington, or Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The Langley-Loveland Funeral Home, Tuckahoe, NJ was in charge of cremation.
