Obituary for Debbie Dawn Hostler

Debbie Dawn Hostler
Debbie Dawn Hostler, age 61 years, passed quietly from this life on Saturday,
June 17. She was the youngest child of Dorsey E. Hostler Jr. and Alberta B. Hostler.
A lifetime resident of Corbin City, Debbie began her formal education in the one
room schoolhouse of that community. She graduated from Ocean City High School
in 1973. Debbie worked for the Prudential Insurance Company and ultimately for
the John S. Helmbold Education Center, a school for children with special needs. In
her early adulthood, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but continued her
work at the Helmbold Center until her retirement when the school relocated from
facilities in Corbin City. Debbie was preceded in death by her brother Dwight, who
taught at the Helmbold Center, and her father, Dorsey, who served as Corbin City’s
mayor and as an Atlantic County Freeholder. She is survived by her mother,
Alberta, and her brother Dorsey D. Hostler of Kailua, Hawaii. A memorial service will
be held at the Langley-Loveland Funeral Home on Friday June 23 at 11am with a
visitation from 10:30 until time of services. The family requests that in lieu of
flowers, memorial donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at
. Condolences and memories can be shared online at
