Obituary for Virginia J Platt (Young)

Virginia J. Platt (Young) - 84, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 3, 2017. Virginia was born in Petersburg, NJ. Virginia was the seventh oldest of ten in the infamous Young family of Petersburg. She was a devoted wife to the late Wesley Platt, and was a mother and grandmother. Her unconditional love and support will always be remembered as well as her fine cuisine of potato salad, molasses cookies, and fudge. She is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years Wesley Platt, parents Ammasa and Mabel Young, and siblings Kenneth Young, Hobart Young, and Ida Cassidy. Virginia is survived by her four children, Sharon Tomlin of Court House, Wesley Platt Jr (Debbie) of Stuart, FL, Larry Platt (Sherry) of Belleplain, Dale Platt (Pegi) of Corbin City along with many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters Ada Devlin, Myrtle Young, Elva Hearon, Janice Demarest and brothers Edward Young and Donald Young. Viewing will be on Wednesday, March 8th from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 400 Dennisville-Petersburg Rd, Petersburg, followed by a service; a burial following time of service will be held at the Head of the River Cemetery, Estell Manor.
