Obituary for Nilsa M. Aponte

Aponte, Nilsa M, age 60 of Woodbine, passed away Saturday, June 23rd, 2018. Nilsa was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico to Doroteo Aponte and Carmen Rodriguez.
Nilsa was loved by her community and was called “Titi” by most who knew her. She was considered everyone’s aunt. She made sure everyone was fed and in good spirits. To know her was to love her, it was infectious how warming/nurturing she was. But not to confuse her kindness for weakness she would still throw her hands up and smack someone real quick if she needed to, it was the tough love she instilled in everyone near her.
She was the definition of “live each day as if it were your last”. Nilsa took pride in being a mother and that was her greatest job. Daily, she would clean the house, cook and sit on the stoop with her mom, cousins and friends. Nilsa was a daddy’s girl and now she joins her father, Doroteo, after ten years in heaven to “Dance with my father “- Luther Vandross as she would always sing.
Nilsa is survived by three sons Pedro, James, and Anthony, three grand-daughters Janiksa, Andrea, and Samiyah, her mother Carmen, twin sister Nancy, and brothers Jamie and Edwin, nieces and nephews and hosts of family, friends and neighbors who loved her dearly.
Services for Nilsa will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday June 27th, 2018 at the St. Casimir’s RC Church, 304 Clay Street, Woodbine, NJ; friends will be received one hour prior to service from 11am – 12 noon. A burial will be held immediately following service at Head of the River Cemetery, Estell Manor. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.LangleyLovelandFuneralHome.com.
