Roland Bonner Jr. was born on January 13th, 1966. Throughout his life, Roland
exemplified time and again his perseverance to go above and beyond expectations. He was a
devoted family man; he never failed to remind his kids how proud he was of their
accomplishments or his wife of how in love he was even after twenty-six years of marriage.
Coaching for WACYL little league and being the president of Greater Tuckahoe Area Merchant’s
Association for 6 years, Roland showed exceptional leadership skills. His business, while
frustrating at times, proved to be an outlet for his entrepreneurial spirit and ability to solve
problems. His employees will remember him best at how he made even work enjoyable, for
anyone that knew him could attest to his dry sense of humor. Roland’s passion for cars was
noticeable in the way he spent many late nights at Atco living vicariously through his son.
Towards the end of his life, he became interested in the physical and mental endurance of
triathlon training. He was seen by the locals of the Corbin City/Tuckahoe area swimming in the
Tuckahoe river a multitude of times, and he himself would tell you the downright ridiculous
number of miles he ran or biked that day. Anyone that knew him can tell you the fierce
dedication he possessed with everything he did. His passion to better his community, goofy sense
of humor, and zeal for life will be dearly missed.
