Joseph Brandon Bernek, born Feb. 12, 1992, in Tulsa, Okla., passed away unexpectedly in Camden, N.J., Sept. 5, 2016. Joseph was the son of Joseph A. Bernek and the late Dolores (Chiodo) Bernek. He was the father of a young daughter, Airalynn Bernek.
Joseph grew up in the Pocono Mountains, where he enjoyed spending time outdoors with his friends and family. He loved hunting and fishing with his father, and he also enjoyed playing games, whether video and computer games with his friends, or board games with his mom, sisters, and cousins. He loved to make people laugh, and enjoyed listening to family stories and sharing his own.
He attended Pocono Mountain School District before earning his high school diploma at Red Rock Job Corps. Joseph loved working with his hands, and held several jobs that allowed him to create and build, including, most recently, at a shipyard in New Jersey.
In addition to his father and daughter, Joseph is survived by his grandmothers, Arlene Bernek and Dolores Chiodo; two sisters, Shannon Nichole Bernek (Millville, N.J.), and Donna Talarico (Lancaster, Pa.); a nephew; and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joseph left us too soon, before many of his dreams were realized; we will miss him and his smile dearly.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
